FOLK INSTRUMENTS PICKUPS QUESTIONS
FOLK INSTRUMENTS PICKUPS QUESTIONS
My 6-string banjo (Banjitar) bridge is thicker than a normal banjo so the only way the pickup fits is if I remove the rubber sleeve all together. Is this, ok?? Is it necessary to have that sleeve on? Does removing that sleeve effect the way it works?
Will a MP2 pickup work with a Behringer X18 board? Do I need to use one of the two high impedance channels on the X-18 (100 K Ohm vs 10 K "normal" channels)? Do I need to use an ultra-high impedance DI box (1 meg ohm)?
What are the minimum and maximum clearance measurements for the MP-2 pickup? I'm referring to the distance from the bottom of the saddle to the top bridge body?
I play a Loar LM-590 mandolin. The gap in the bridge is too large, even with the included shims. Additionally, I tried the gap between the body and the bridge which is too small. Are there any other solutions? Is there an internal mounting option?
